What is a flag stop system?

Can I transfer to CARTA from a TriCounty Link bus?
Yes, all TriCounty Link fixed-route buses connect with CARTA Express and other routes. If you wish to transfer to another TriCounty LInk bus, or to a CARTA bus, just ask your Link driver for a free transfer.

When you board a CARTA bus, give the TriCounty Link transfer to the CARTA driver. The TriCounty Link transfer will allow you to board the CARTA bus without paying an additional fare.

On the return trip, when you board the CARTA bus, you will pay the CARTA one-way fare plus a 35¢ per transfer fee. (CARTA charges 35¢ for transfers on all of their routes.) When you board the TriCounty Link bus, give the Link driver the CARTA transfer; no additional fare is needed.

Route Schedules list
stops, map and timetable.

How do I read a bus schedule?
All Route Schedules have a route name, number, destinations (stops) and map. The map includes designated stops (or time points). The time points are departure times from major stops along the route. If your stop is not listed on the timetable, use the time points given to estimate the departure times from your stop, or call us at (843) 899-4096 for assistance.
What times do the buses operate?
It varies route by route. It is best to check the schedule of the bus you want to ride. For schedule information look under Route Schedules.
Where do I catch the bus?
To ride TriCounty Link, you may stand at one of the locations noted on the route brochure, or you may take advantage of the flag-stop system and give the driver a wave from a safe place along the bus route to let him know you would like to ride.
Can I bring my bike on the bus?
